Welcome to TrEAT Yourself WellHow many times did you eat out last week? Four...five...maybe more? If you're like most Americans, you're eating someplace other than home a lot these days. But that doesn't mean you can't enjoy a meal that's healthy and delicious, whether it's a casual dinner on the go or a special occasion. To make it easier for you to eat healthfully at restaurants, the California Department of Health Services has teamed up with several San Diego restaurants on an innovative pilot program called TrEAT Yourself Well. Chefs at these restaurants have created exclusive menu items that delight the eyes and the tastebuds. These palate-pleasing dishes feature luscious, fresh, seasonal fruits and vegetables, lean, flavorful meats, savory herbs and bold spices. All contain two or more servings of fruits and/or vegetables and less than 30 percent fat (or under 20 grams). Best of all, they don't sacrifice flavor to do it!
These restaurants and the TrEAT Yourself Well program are excited to show you just how sensational health-conscious dining can be. |
